Are you a fan of comedy movies? If so, then you’re in for a treat! Here are the best 6 comedy movies coming out in 2022 that you won’t want to miss.
1. The Man from Toronto
The Man from Toronto is a Netflix original movie that stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson. The premise of the movie is that a location mix up gets Hart confused for a deranged and skilled assassin played by Harrelson. Kaley Cuoco and Ellen Barkin also star in the film.
Hart does a good job of playing the comedic relief in this action-packed film, while Harrelson brings the intensity as the ruthless killer. Cuoco shines as Hart’s love interest, while Barkin plays an important role as well. The chemistry between all four actors works well on screen.
The plot is fast-paced and thrilling, with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers engaged throughout. The ending is particularly satisfying. Overall, The Man from Toronto is an enjoyable watch that will leave you laughing – and maybe even cringing – at times!
2. Metal Lords
When it comes to being a true metalhead, Hunter and Kevin are the real deal. They know every headbang-worthy riff and can name all of their favorite bands with ease. So when they learn about an upcoming Battle of the Bands competition, they see it as the perfect opportunity to show everyone just how much they love metal.
But things start to unravel when Kevin’s estranged father shows up out of nowhere and wants him to join his country band. As Kevin starts spending more time with his dad, Hunter feels like he’s being left behind. And if that weren’t enough drama, both boys must contend with romantic entanglements that threaten to tear them apart completely!
Metal Lords is a hilarious teen comedy that will resonate deeply with anyone who has ever felt like an outsider. It’s also packed full of cameos from some of today’s biggest metal bands – so get ready to rock out!
3. The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
In The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Nicolas Cage gives one of the most over-the-top performances of his career. He plays a fictionalized version of himself, an actor who is struggling to find work and make ends meet. In order to earn some quick cash, he accepts a $1 million offer to attend a wealthy fan’s birthday party.
However, things take a turn for the worse when he is recruited by a CIA operative for an unusual mission. Cage channels many of his iconic characters in order to save himself and his loved ones from harm. This includes characters from films such as Con Air, Face/Off, Leaving Las Vegas, and National Treasure.
The film is both funny and entertaining, with plenty of laughs coming from Cage’s exaggerated performance. If you’re a fan of either Cage or Pedro Pascal (who also stars in the film), then this is definitely worth watching!
4. The Lost City
The Lost City is a unique film that combines the genres of romance, adventure, and comedy. Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum play off each other well as the main duo; their sense of humour is one of the highlights of the movie.
The plot revolves around Loretta Sage, a reclusive author who writes about exotic places in her popular adventure novels. When she’s kidnapped by an eccentric billionaire who hopes she can lead him to an ancient city’s lost treasure from her latest story, Alan sets off to rescue her.
The action takes place in both the present day and flashbacks to when Loretta was writing her novel, which gives insight into her creative process. The ending is unexpected but satisfying.
5. Everything Everywhere All At Once
The Daniels are back with their newest movie, Everything Everywhere All at Once. While this film may not have Awkwafina in it, it still has an amazing cast including Michelle Yeoh, Jenny Slate, and Jamie Lee Curtis. The story follows a group of friends as they travel the world and try to make sense of everything that is happening around them.
There are some truly comical moments in the film, particularly between Jenny Slate and Jamie Lee Curtis. However, there are also some more serious moments where the characters must face difficult decisions or grapple with complicated emotions. Throughout it all though, the friendship between these characters shines through brightly.
The fight scenes in this movie are incredible! Michelle Yeoh choreographed many of them herself and her experience really shows on screen. The action sequences are well done and exciting to watch without being too over-the-top or gratuitous violence for violence’s sake.
6. Thor: Love and Thunder
Thor: Love And Thunder is the upcoming fourth movie in the Thor franchise. It is set to be released in July 2022, and will be directed by Taika Waititi. The film will see Chris Hemsworth return as Thor, alongside Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Jeff Goldblum as Korg.
The plot of the film has not been revealed yet, but it is thought that it will focus on Gorr the God Butcher – a villain who first appeared in Marvel Comics’ “Thor” #2 back in 2014. In the comics, Gorr murders gods across different realities with his All-Black blade; which he can summon using dark matter from any location at any time. He also possesses other abilities such as super strength and invulnerability.
It was recently announced that Christian Bale had been cast in an undisclosed role for Love And Thunder – fuelling speculation that he could possibly be playing Gorr himself. However, this has not been confirmed by Marvel Studios yet so we’ll have to wait and see!
